New York Jets Breakdown Week 4: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Score: Colts 37 - Jets 28

This was a much better game and we found a way to crawl back in it but blew it with personal fouls, bad play calling, and bad O-Line. DEAR GOD, FIRE ADAM GASE.

The Good:

Crowder: Crowder may be the one consistent on this team. Always gives great effort, comes back to the ball, and knows where the markers are. Good stuff.

Vincent Smith: Very happily surprised by Smith tonight. 7 rec for 81 yards. He has great speed and gets good separation. Hopefully, he can continue to develop. 

Samuel Richard Darnold: Goddamn. 6 sacks, and 10 QB hits, and somehow Sammy D kept us in this game. We needed to take deep shots, case in point Broncos. They took deep shots and won, but Adam Gase doesn't do that, and we lose. I LOVE that Sam is running now and it helps, and we needed it. If I can find a way to tattoo his run TD play on my ass I will. I will die on this hill, SAM IS NOT THE ISSUE. Doesn't matter who you have back there with Gase at the Helm, FIRE GASE.

Desir: Played good and bad. If he can develop, he will be a great piece for us, but if not another liability. 

Ficken: Great night for Ficken. Having a good year so far.

The Bad:

Defense: Defense was a mixed bag tonight, had some great plays, had some dismissal plays. However, the main issue is penalties. STOP GETTING PERSONAL FOULS. Some of them were bad calls or unlucky, like the one on Q, but others were just bad. 

TE’s: Continuous bad effort from the TE’s is getting real old. Herndon keeps dropping balls and Griffin is slower than Witten. They don't get open and just sit on their routes. 

The Ugly: 

O-Line: Lots of pressure today, Becton is hurt and that blows. When he isn't in the game you can see how much he actually does. 

Running: Between Gore’s 15 runs and Perine’s 5 they had a combined total of 45 yards. We are not creative on the runs and usually abandon it in the second half. The only good running came from our QB. 

The Play Calling:

Gase appears to have played a game of Madden this weekend as we did some play actions. HOWEVER, in the red zone, he called the same play 3 times and it NEVER WORKED. Once again, the best plays we have are one the play call breaks down, because it's a bad play, and Sam makes magic happen. A chimpanzee with a lobotomy would be more successful because he would at least spice it up a bit. 

What Needs To Happen:

The only thing that can help us, is firing Adam Gase, everything else is a moot point.
